Bill: Cabinet Formation Amendment

Details

Submitted by[?]: Progressive Liberal Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 4213

Description[?]:

A Constitutional Amendment to change provisions linked to who is responsible for proposing a cabinet of government. Considering the current political crisis the government is in without a Head of Government in place we deem it necessary, as we've considered it the last time the AIP proposed it. We hope that this time the Senate will pass the resolution.

MessageI hope the PPP support this bill, however I suspect they won't. If they don't I hope a cabinet proposal can be tabled ASAP by the president.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
