MessageObviously we cannot put an exact number to it however we are very confident that the people of Baltusia will make the right choice at this election and have chosen the sensible option. For at this election people have a choice, a choice between the left, represented by us and the other members of the Left, Moderate, and Independent bloc or the choice of the same old centrist-right wing coalition governments offered by the Right-Wing Alliance, the Baltusian Centrist Alliance, and the DAB. I think the people are tired of the status quo and are ready for change.
If we in the Left, Moderate, and Independent bloc gain a majority in the house with the SSPB as the largest party then we will use that power to increase corporation tax to 40%, increase regulation on corporations, protect workers rights, institute a major nationalization policy, ban religious schools and tax religious donations, and we will do all we can to bring our pointless potential conflict with Aldegar to an end.
So we really value our chances and trust that the Baltusian people have made the right choice and have voted for me for President on behalf of the SSPB and the Left, Moderate, and Independent bloc, and have voted for SSPB, RAC, or Moderate members of congress to represent the working people of Baltusia.

Warrick Purcell (Presidential Candidate - SSPB)

MessageNow, obviously your party was fairly successful during the State Legislature elections two years ago, becoming the largest opposition party in 4/5 SL's. Following this, do you predict that you could potentially win one of the 5 gubernatorial elections happening this evening and even if not, which one do you feel you have the most likely chance of winning?

MessageMajority Speaker Alexandra Flanders has just spoken to us. This is what she had to say:
"We admit this election will be closer than it has been for many years but we blame that on destabilising, outside forces rather than the policies of the Left.

"To be honest, when your hear what Mr Purcell has got planned for the country it is up to my party and the others in the Centrist Alliance to do our best to put that disruption behind us and galvanise for the good of this country. A Left Bloc president would be a disaster."

We think it is very likely that we will win at least one or two of the gubernatorial elections, probably our home state of Terrarokka.

I would disagree with President DeGraz that socialism cannot work as an effective model for a country and remind her that because a country is currently one thing (a free-market economy) does not mean it must always be that thing.

MessageCongratulations to President DeGraz on her reelection as president. This is a disappointing day for those of us who supported true socialist, progressive policies however we thank all those who voted for us. I am not sure how we proceed from here however I know that the people have not put their trust in me. In February there will be a leadership election in the SSPB in which I may or may not stand. Thank You.

MessageLadies and Gentlemen,

Thank you. Tonight you have decided to put your trust in me to provide the strong and stable leadership that this nation requires at a time of difficult, economic uncertainty. Together, we will go forward to ensure that Baltusia works for everyone, from our lowest earners to our highest earners. We will see real constitutional reform and improvement through the creation of a deceleration of rights and a constitutional court. We are going to take Baltusia to the next level.

However, I must commiserate my two presidential opponents, firstly, Mr Purcell. I would like to thank the SSPB for their presidential candidacy, for a first attempt it was certainly very admirable and a platform that the left will likely look to grow from. Secondly, congratulations to the FWP, to gain 29 seats and pick up 5% of the Presidential vote is incredible, again, thank you.

But that aside, this is truly a victory for centrism. There is a lot of talk amongst the left of 'the status quo' - but it is clear that the 'status quo' works - for you, your family and for Baltusia. Increases the health and social services, military and the introduction of state legislatures- that is why centrism is supported every, single time at the ballot box. I don't think we are going to see a stronger political movement than the centrist alliance in my lifetime. You have spoken, you have spoken resoundingly, and you have spoken to place your trust in a future of freedom, liberty and equality. Thank you!

President Ruby DeGraz
