Description[?]:
I feel that our nation has been threatened and needs to react. We recieved this over our public board: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date 00:16:13, February 14, 2006 CET From Sozialbündnis (BS/KBP) To Exalted Empire of Gaduridos Message The text of our world address: On behalf of the Republic of Dranland, I would like to take the opportunity to address the world. Many of us are familiar with territorial claims made by the Exalted Empire of Gaduridos, some of which extend over territory belonging to the Republic of Indrala. I would like to make it known that I am personally committed to assisting the Republic of Indrala in any way to defend itself against imperialist attacks, and am currently negotiating with our Volksversammlung to dedicate one quarter of our full military capability to the protection of the Republic of Indrala upon any attack made by the Exalted Empire of Gaduridos. I call upon the government of Gaduridos to immediately cease all territorial or maritime claims to that which is rightfully controlled by the Republic of Indrala, lest action be taken on our part to neutralise the threat you pose to the security and well-being of her citizens. Be warned, Emperor Deeton, as we are prepared to defend Indrala by any means necessary. Signed, the Government of the Republic of Dranland ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In light of this recent turn of events, military spending and training should increase, and we should look into drafting. If the enemy does not resend this threat then we should go to a war footing. These threats from the enemy should not be taken lightly and all that can be done to prepair for this! Message | it is our feeling that this is just a lot of bluff and posturing, and that no additional spending is necessary. Perhaps our forces should be brought to a higher state of alert though. Before this party votes, what is the opinion of our defence minister? |

Message | I have sent a message to the government of Dranland assuring them that the times of former aggression are over. We must keep cool heads. They did not understand how long this conflict has been resolved. |

Message | OOC: FYI, you're not supposed to propose increases to the budget like this. The Finance Minister controls proposing a new budget, which is where increased military spending would fall under. |

Random quote: "Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn |
