With early elections having been called, the Neoliberal Party will be holding its first Presidential Primaries. The following candidates have announced their intentions to run for Mordusia's highest office
Sean Martin - Neoliberal Party Chairman, Congressman from Sayoon
Josh Cooke - Minister for Trade and Industry from Hosamia
Liam Stanton - Congressman from Sammodra

The Neoliberal Party Constitution states that presidential primaries will be held in the following way: Sammodra, Hosamia, and Sayoon will each have 400, 375, and 350 delegates respectively, and two of them must allocate delegates in a proportional, based on voting, manner. The third province, whichever the Neoliberal Party committee on elections (NPCE) decides, shall be winner take all. The provinces of of Talasor and Adubura will both have 300 delegates each, and one of the two provinces will allocate 65% of delegates to the first place winner, and 35% of delegates to the 2nd place winner. To win the nomination, 850 delegates must be won by one the candidate, or else a contested convention will be held. The NPCE has decided that Sayoon and Talasor shall be the states with special delegate appropriations. The primary schedule goes as follows: Hosamia (375 delegates) will be first, followed by Sayoon (300 Delegates), Sammodra (400 delegates), Adubura (300 delegates), and ending with Talasor (300 delegates). A debate will be held before the first province\'s primary, and then one after Sammodra\'s primary.

Initial polling:
Sean Martin - 46%
Josh Cooke - 19%
Liam Stanton - 10%
Undecided - 25%

The debates were hosted and televised by the Chronicles of Mordusia.

After debate polling:
Sean Martin- 44%
Josh Cooke - 24%
Liam Stanton - 11%
Undecided - 21%

After a week of campaigning, the Hosamia primary took place. The vote percentages, and delegates, breakdown as follows:
Josh Cooke - 45%, 169 delegates
Sean Martin - 44% 165 delegates
Liam Stanton - 11%, 41 delegates

This was a surprise victory for Minister Cooke. Polls showed he was around 2%-3% behind front-runner Sean Martin, but at the last minute Cooke pulled off a victory in his home state.

The candidates continue campaigning until the Sayoon primary, where the winner will take all. The vote percentages, and delegates, breakdown as follows:
Sean Martin - 62%, 300 delegates
Josh Cooke - 31%
Liam Stanton 7%

The candidates continue campaigning until the Sammodra primary. The vote percentages, and delegates, breakdown as follows:
Sean Martin - 37%, 148 delegates
Liam Stanton - 35%, 140 delegates
Josh Cooke - 28%, 112 delegates\

The second debate is held. Before the debate, national polls were released with the following data:
Sean Martin - 39%
Josh Cooke - 30%
Liam Stanton - 15%
Undecided - 16%

After the debate, instant polls showed the following:
Sean Martin - 41%
Josh Cooke - 37%
Liam Stanton - 19%
Undecided - 3%

The candidates continue campaigning until the Adubura primary. The vote percentages, and delegates, breakdown as follows:
Sean Martin - 43%, 129 delegates
Liam Stanton - 40%, 120 delegates
Josh Cooke - 17%, 51 delegates

The candidates continue campaigning for the final primary of Talasor. The vote percentages, and delegates, breakdown as follows:
Sean Martin - 40%, 195 delegates
Josh Cooke - 39%, 105 delegates
Liam Stanton - 21%

The final delegate tally:
Sean Martin - 937 delegates. As this exceeds the 850 delegates necessary to win the nomination, Sean Martin is declared the official nominee.
Josh Cooke - 506 delegates
Liam Staont - 232 delegates

Sean Martin makes a speech at the Neoliberal Party convention, thanking all those who supported him, and urging on a victory for the Neoliberal Party.

Josh Cooke - 41%
Sean Martin- 40%
Undecided - 19%

After a week of campaigning, the Hosamia primary took place. The vote percentages, and delegates, breakdown as follows:
Josh Cooke - 57%, 214 delegates
Sean Martin - 43% 161 delegates

The candidates continue campaigning until the Sayoon primary. The vote percentages, and delegates, breakdown as follows:
Sean Martin - 68%, 204 delegates
Josh Cooke - 32%, 96 delegates

The candidates continue campaigning until the Sammodra primary, this is a winner take all state. This was heavily contested, and Congressman Cooke edged out with only 1,000 more votes than his opponent after several recounts. The vote percentages, and delegates, breakdown as follows:
Josh Cooke - 50%, 400 delegates
Sean Martin - 50%

Delegate count:
Sean Martin - 365 delegates, only 475 delegates are needed
Josh Cooke -710 Delegates, only 140 delegates are needed

The second debate is held. Before the debate, national polls were released with the following data:
Josh Cooke- 47%
Sean Martin - 44%
Undecided - 9%

After the debate, instant polls showed the following:
Sean Martin - 49%
Josh Cooke - 47%
Undecided - 4%

The candidates continue campaigning until the Adubura primary. The vote percentages, and delegates, breakdown as follows:
Sean Martin - 67%, 201 delegates
Josh Cooke - 33%, 99 delegates

The candidates continue campaigning for the final primary of Talasor. The vote percentages, and delegates, breakdown as follows:
Sean Martin - 51%, 195 delegates
Josh Cooke - 49%, 105 delegates

The final delegate tally:
Sean Martin - 761 delegates.
Josh Cooke - 914 delegates

It was expected that Josh Cooke be the official nominee for the Neoliberal Party, but the NPCE has announced that because of the close results in Sammodra, the results will be invalidated, and will instead be allocated proportionally. Such a decision of overruling the party constitution must come with a majority vote in the party leadership, led by Sean Martin. The leadership decision was unanimous, and due to the new results, Sean Martin’s delegate count will increase by 200 (961 delegates), and Josh Cooke’s delegate count will decrease by 200 (714 delegates).

At the Neoliberal Party convention, Josh Cooke is invited to speak.

“Ladies and Gentlemen of the Neoliberal Party, today is a sad day. What we witnessed was not democracy, but a rigging of a free and fair elections. The rules had been decided beforehand, and the party leadership, led by none other than Congressman Sean, decided against such rules which would have made me the nominee for the party. This is corruption of the highest level. In our party’s short life, we have seen a betrayal of our party values by aligning ourselves with the far-right parties, we have seen our party compromise on key issues for the sake of the right wing. It’s time that the party be steered towards the right course. I will be fighting against this corruption, and will be running for Leader of this great party as soon as the elections conclude. Thank you, and I urge the Neoliberal voters to make the right decision when it’s time to vote.”

He is met by both cheers and boo’s from the disgruntled party members. He walks away from the convention and returns to the capital for his legislative duties. Sean Martin makes the final speech at the convention, but it pale’s in comparison to Cooke’s.

Sean Martin - 33%, 105 delegates
Josh Cooke - 32%

The final delegate tally:
Josh Cooke - 821 delegates
Sean Martin - 573 delegates.
Brandon Evans - 331 delegates

With no one candidate achieving the 850 delegates needed, a contested convention begins. Brandon Evans refuses to drop out and endorse Sean Martin, and so with 30 delegates of each candidate's delegates becoming unbound, Josh Cooke wins in a final delegate count of 861 delegates.

Josh Cooke has won the nomination for Neoliberal Presidential nominee.
