Bill: First Term Abortion Act 4214
Details
Submitted by[?]: Baltusian International Democratic Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 4215
Description[?]:
I know many people in Baltusia feel passionate about abortion, one way or the other. The fact is, it isn't as simple as that though. But, I am sure we can all agree that we must attempt to do all we can to cut the number of abortions. That is why I am today announcing our plans to allow safe, legal abortions up to the first trimester - which is 14 weeks. This will cut the number of abortions and valuing human lives, whilst allowing them to be available for the scenario when they are required. We ask the opposition to look at this issue and compromise. Thank you. President Ruby DeGraz |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Policy on the legality of abortions
Old value:: Abortion is allowed during the first and second trimesters.

Message | Firstly let' s address the moderate party and their absurd statement. Why should you say why you don't stand in favour of this bill? Because people elect you to make decisions and they expect you to justify those decisions! You are a democratic disgrace, the electorate vest their power in you, and to sit here and not explain you position on issues is quite frankly disgusting. The RAC, ask any 14 week pregnant women if they know they are pregnant. Secondly, you are on about choice - you love choice when it comes to abortion, why not when it comes to railways, energy and banking? Grave hipocracy, thats what this is! Message | Hear, Hear! The only time certain Left Bloc parties rise from their slumber is when they think there is a chance for an early election so they can try and disrupt the nation for the sake of a few extra seats. Alexandra Flanders Majority Speaker of the House |
Date | 18:43:36, May 22, 2017 CET | From | Baltusian Democratic Green Party (BDGP) | To | Debating the First Term Abortion Act 4214 |
Message | Whilst we respect the views of our allies the Patriots and Republicans regarding this matter, we shall have to agree to disagree, I'm afraid. In response to the question by the Republicans behind my party voting no to this proposal is the simple reason that it's party policy to keep the legislation unchanged regarding this matter - policy that's popular both with our supporters and Congressmen and women. We in the BDGP are clear that women should have the right whether to continue the pregnancy, to an extent. And as Ms Andrews has said, the parties of the Left Bloc claim to be promoting choice, but they feel the need to ban it on all other matters by not allowing the private sector to even have a foot in! It's painfully obvious that the Baltusian Democratic Green Party is the only party that represents freedom of choice, and election results time and time again only prove that fact.
