This is the best way for such a practice to be addressed; after all, there are millions of Istalians who disagree with this procedure from religious or ethical grounds - to make it legally binding in law is unfair to these objectors. We further know that, despite it being unregulated by the government, that doctors who practice gender reassignment surgery must meet medical community standards or risk going out of business or losing their clients. Essentially, this legislation is worthless and will just make it more difficult and expensive for those seeking gender reassignment surgery." |
