Bill: Call for early elections, March 4221

Details

Submitted by[?]: Vereinigte Bewegung der Regionen

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: November 4221

Description[?]:

Mrs President,

The VBR believe that the current political landscape is not able to form a stable Government. Therefore, it is fair to the electorate to have the 49 vacant seats filled in again. That is our democratic duty and might solve the political crisis.

Message"Of course there should be a snap election! We can't go four years with 49 empty seats, then millions of Dorvik's voters would be without their political representation. But not only that, a snap election would give the people a say in the current government crisis."

We accept, but only if the election takes place after August. This will allow the Federal Assembly to pass the bills currently in motion. We shall suggest no more bills.

On reconsideration we will accept this motion as early as possible. We feel the bills currently set to pass will likely still succeed in new government.

There have been too many early elections. Dorvik hasn't had a four-year term for 14 years! We can't turn into Darnussia, where an election is held practically every year!

Look -- the country is in a state of emergency! We have no government! If you'd like to shorten the terms, or -- whatever, do it afterwards. Now is the time for elections!

Not at all. We got nearly 7 million votes and we represent them every day. We support democracy always. It's simply that we have had straight elections for two years. We still have hope a coalition may be reached.

There is no hope for a coalition. The HDU refuse to work with anyone -- YOU refuse to work with us. We have a stalemate that nobody is set to break. It's either early elections or you open your minds up and work with parties you disagree with.

The DF is a reasonable party with sometimes some less reasonable proposals. They are willing to co-operate, which is why I urge other parties to do the same: We need a government.

We are willing to lead a steady governemnt and work with any party to do so. We are willing to compromise in certain areas of course, too. And family we have suggested nothing explicitly fascist and I would point you to my recent interview with the DNS -- as I said there, I am not fascist, we are not fascist. We support strength and safety. We're conservative, sure. But fascist? No. You're more fascist -- at least we support democracy.

MessagePresident,

A slip of the tongue -- we meant -- what I meant was that we would be a part of a coalition with good leadership. Don't spin this. Not once have we suggested that we are given Chancellorship -- we have always offered that to the largest party, because we believe in democracy.

Like you said, we're the third largest party. We should be given a say in government -- you, even YOU we would be willing to work with. You're the one that hates democracy.

And I don't dodge questions! We believe in straight-talking, real person politics. We're upfront with our beliefs -- you try to spin it. Why? Why, Hammerstein? Is it because you're an anti-democratic dictator in waiting? Is it because you're a fool unwilling to put the national interest first? Why do you reject compromise? Is it because you're an anarchist who never actually wanted a government in the first place? Help me here, I'm struggling to understand your deluded little brain. Is it because you're afraid that your anti-DF rhetoric will be exposed as lies? Don't worry about that, nobody believes you anyway. Is that why you won't vote yes on this election? Because you're afraid the people might get to rule their own country?

I suggest you go and Hammerstein your head into a brick wall to see if it wakes you up from your sleepwalking, half-awake, idiotic worldview.

Koeppen out.

I have been returned to this house every election since 4197. I have served this country for nearly 25 years. That's about 25 years longer than you have. I think this whole 'anti-democratic' angle you're working is baloney. I got the votes of over 20 million Dorvish people for the highest position in the land. So, I'm not an anti-democrat.

MessagePresident,

And I dodge questions? If you want democracy, agree to this referendum, agree to compromise, agree to the national benefit.

And frankly, we got more votes than you did this last election -- our very first. Surely that shows the people's thirst for our politics? The people's views? AND YET YOU EXCLUDE US!? You exclude the largest party too!? We see your reasoning, however idiotic, but wow! You really are a fool! Give the people a government and compromise! Either this is a calculated move and you're anti-democratic or you're an incompetent fool unfit for office because you don't even have the brains to figure out we need to fix this governmental crisis. You're like a human piece of crap -- though, to be fair that's all you talk anyway.

OOC: Because we couldn't form a cabinet I knew early election were on the way. I think it stands to reason the FA president would carry on until a new person was elected, considering that otherwise the house would be unmoderated.

Otherwise, Ganser was only FA president for about a year.

This is a really middling issue and I don't see why you're making any kind of fuss about this. It's not RP wise for a chamber to have no moderator.
