Message | Mr. Speaker, This is absolutely opposed to all Constitutionalist values. The point of many governments are to regulate and protect wider society. The point of a democratic government is to go beyond just this, and also ensure that those said regulations are up to debate and change. With such a proposal, a one-party state could easily be formed by one organization appointing only loyalists and fanatics to position of power, soon enough being able to kill off Democracy with the entire military on their side. |
