Message | This bill prevents employers from firing employees in conducting a legally protected union action. The right to strike is protected in Alorian law, we must also protect from employer repercussions. |
Date | 07:10:11, June 07, 2017 CET | From | Demokratische Allianz | To | Debating the Strike Act |
Message | We feel that this Bill goes too far. We would support a measure to restricting the firing of workers on strike only to those who are deemed to have gone on strike without reasonable reasons. The definition of reasonable reasons can then be legislated or left to an arbitrary body to determine. |
Date | 07:19:16, June 07, 2017 CET | From | Labor Party | To | Debating the Strike Act |
Message | The issues with the law is that we cannot see where reasonable can be left in place, and by whom. This version guarantees that those rules are enforced and protected by the state. It is not over-reach, but simply allowing for the safe protection of union activity that is protected in Alorian law. |

Message | I believe a 'reasonable reasons' clause allows for the establishment of judicial case law to govern meaning moving forward. The issue with putting these decisions in the hands of government is two-fold: 1) It opens the process to abuse dependent on the left/right economic mindset of the ruling party or coalition. 2) It would likely delay decisions for workers and employers as government considers individual requests without recourse for decisions to be disputed. |
