Bill: Military Uniforms in Congress Bill - 4225

Details

Submitted by[?]: Patriotic Party of Baltusia

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4225

Description[?]:

Members of Congress,

I am one of more than 80 armed forces veterans who is now elected to this house as a member of the Patriotic Party.

Our armed forces service history means a great deal to us and in keeping with this legacy many of us wish to wear our ceremonial uniforms in this House.

There is currently no formal government policy on this issue; however, on attempting to enter the Chamber, I was stopped by two other members from an opposing party who challenged my right to wear my uniform saying I was acting in a militaristic fashion. I therefore ask Congress to formalise this right by voting on the following proposal:

Article 1: Current or former armed forces personnel elected to Congress may wear their military uniforms in the House.

Thank you
Congresswoman Belinda Gould
Staff Sergeant (Retired Injured)
