Bill: Employment Equality Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Baltusia Parliamentary Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 4226
Description[?]:
For the BPP, this nation is always at its best when we are open and outward-facing. We seek to ensure the labour market provides jobs that every worker can build a life on, ensure work visas are processed quickly and efficiently, and ensure education and training in schools, colleges, universities and on-the-job to equip all of our workers for these jobs. People who come to Baltusia, seeking to follow on our proud tradition of providing asylum, should be allowed to work if they can, should be given decent benefits equivalent to those of everyone else, and decent housing. We must demand that human rights and human feelings are respected. Charlie Parnell, BPP Shadow Home Secretary |

Message | Mr Parnell, I understand the human rights sentiment behind this proposal but I am concerned about the prospects - both financially and socially - of completely opening the tap to the migration of foreign workers in this way, particularly straight after we have changed the law on providing asylum. I would much rather see a more flexible system - say, Local Governments decide on this issue - and then each state can gauge if and when the local employment situation is right for this kind of influx. Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
