| The Social Democratic Party proposes this bill to the Senate for many reasons: Primarily, this bill is the right thing to do, lowering the pension age will provide a long, happy retirement for the nation's old and give them time to seek fulfillment and do what they wish to do with the rest of their lives. Secondly, this bill will help tackle the high rate of unemployment suffered by this nation, by offering retirement earlier, many new young people can take up new positions from retirees, again providing fulfillment to our nation's unemployed, especially our young people whilst also reinvigorating the economy. Finally, this bill will offer compassion and show the nation that this senate does have the interests of the country at heart! |
