Bill: Call for early elections, April 4226

Details

Submitted by[?]: Patriots Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: December 4226

Description[?]:

We, the The Party of Patriots, call for early elections as soon as we can reach a consensus. With the sad demise of the Royalist Party we are down 57 MP's. These seats must be filled and the people of our nation must be represented. We urge all parties to come together to ensure that democracy continues to flourish in our great nation.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We understand that there are vacant seats in our parliament but we oppose yet again another early election as this will be the 3rd early election in 8 years. This is the only reason that we are opposing this bill, a new cabinet should be our focus as the Royalist party had been in charge of numerous departments.

MessageMr Speaker,

I ask my fellow parties to give the people of Luthori the chance to vote for change now rather than later. With the Blue Crown reforming people have the chance to vote for something different - a party which believes in the benefits of monarchism. Which believes in lower taxes and spending. Which believes in the expansion of civil rights and liberties. Which believes in further deregulation to create jobs for working class communities.

MessageMr Speaker,

The people voted not that long ago, and will vote in November next year. The Coalition retains a majority and elections are not required to represent the people still, this Coalition does that.

MessageMr Speaker,

When we had spare seats in previous times all parties were up in arms demanding an election. Something we didn't have to do but always did. The obstruction of democracy and the hypocrisy of some parties stinks!

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
