Bill: Suppress the employers right to fire striking workers
Details
Submitted by[?]: Gaduridos Communist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4227
Description[?]:
There is a major problem with this law: who decides whether the strike is reasonable or not? According to this law, the employers decide. And if so, any employer who doesn't want its workers to go on strike may say that there are no reasonable reasons for a strike, although the workers may think differently, and fire the workers in the process. We can not allow such a thing to happen. The right to strike is granted by our laws, and we can't have a law like this, that suppresses striking workers who are just exercising a right. |

Message | We oppose. Striking is a silly idea anyway. Hurts the economy and so on. |

Message | We cannot think of the economy as an isolated thing, it simply isn't. When you say that striking hurts the economy, I assume it's because the workers don't work one day. But let me ask you: doesn't it hurt the economy more if the workers are underpaid? If they aren't happy working? If consumers can't consume due to low wages? Because all those factors contribute to a strong economy. Striking allows workers to fight for better living and working conditions. And all this increases productivity levels, increases the money circulating in the economy, and even increases tax revenues. The GCP understands that the UPP (the party of the rich) is simply defending its class interests, but we shouldn't distrust the workers of our Nation. |

Message | But striking's benefits to the economy are far outweighed by the drawbacks. I can see your reasoning but it doesnt tie up. |
