Bill: OCC (RP): Whaling Amendment Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Unity Labour Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4229

Description[?]:

This bill seeks to encourage the killing of whales as it's a commodity on demand by consumers as it's known to create properties which are medicinal such as cod liver oil, creation of crafts for sale through using its teeth and bones and also for meat consumption which provide jobs in the fishing industry. However there will be quotas established to prevent the over killing of whales so as to prevent their extinction.
Mr Speaker I'll like to note that I know some members may be emotional on this issue, but I believe in making rational decisions which is best. As a Political Scientist and someone trained in economics this is what is required to grow our economy and provide jobs directly in the fishing sector and craft industry.
Thus, the quota to be established is that citizens, fisherfolks of Malivia are not allowed to kill no more than 4 whales every 4 years which means on avg, 1 whale per year.

MessageMost whales are endangered species or vulnerable ones, they must be protected and they mustn't be hunted. What a disappointing world when the only thing that cares is the money!

MessageBut they are protected via quotas. What do you expect will occur when they're not hunted? Surely their population will then be pleased titular where we will have no choice again but to hunt.
However if we hunt but ensure that we don't over hunt them, then their survival is assured and there won't be any issue with over population in the seas. After all do you know that whales also kill other species of fish to which our fishermen depend on for their own livelihood?
