Message | Members of Congress, Does the centrist party not realize that allowing anyone to purchase fireworks or allowing children to drink alcohol is damaging to them and would lead to unnecessary deaths. Furthermore, allowing advertising on damaging substances will only increase the sales of those things, not only to adults but also children and those most vulnerable in society, this will also lead to further deaths. And finally I would point out that removing all regulation on advertising will only decrease the truthfulness of those adverts to the point that large companies (say fast-food chains or alcohol manufacturers) will be able to lie and claim that their products are fully safe or even beneficial to one's health and those who are impressionability (children and those with mental health conditions) are likely to believe it and purchase the products and either become irreversible damaged or even die because of it. Our current laws require adverts to be accurate however if this bill passes our televisions will become full of lies. This is not an issue of personal freedoms of individuals but of the safety and health of all. I urge you to vote against this bill because of how harmful it would be to society. Message | Mr. Varnham, I would like to ask you if you know what parents are? Do you also know that the government isn't a parents. As a parent of 3 kids, I believe that the kids that have an ability to make there own money, have an ability to make there own decisions, while I do recognize as a parent I do need to step in, but the point is, it is the parents responsibility. Secondly if people find that the advertising is untrustworthy or untrue, they will spread the word, people will stop buying, there is a self regulation aspect to the free market witch I have much faith in. Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left. |
Random quote: "The Revolution needs to progress. We as humans need to evolve into higher beings through better moral virtues. And we can achieve that if we clean ourselves from the immoral. Those who go against the Revolution, go against human progress and must be freed in the most humane way possible. That is why we introduced the guillotine." - Maximus Robertson, former Davostani revolutionary |
