Submitted by[?]: Páirtí an Lucht Oibre - Labour Party

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

The reason we propose this bill is because of the "Opinion Poll" posted in the Republic of Kirlawa Daily, the citizens voted in favour of no regulations.

MessageThere's more than one way to read a poll. ;)

Please note that the five available options on this issue appear to rather neatly fall along a spectrum, from the most hands-off to the most intrusive.
Not all issues are like that.

But on this one ...
http://classic.particracy.net/viewnews.php?newsid=567228&nation=4
35,20% wanted no regulations whatsoever.
64,80% wanted at least a little bit of regulation (the current law); some of whom wanted starker regulation yet.

;)

As for the issue itself, KPJP are mildly against the proposal, but only mildly. We don't particularly care about this issue, at least between the two options available here; in stark contrast to two other bills up for vote at this time
http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=525169
http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=525276
about which we feel very strongly indeed.

If 525169 passes, we'll certainly be dismayed. If 525276 passes, we'll be utterly devastated. :(

If this one passes, no problem. :)

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
