MessageMr Speaker,

The Federation is against the death penalty for all but the most abhorent mass murderers and war criminals. However, we do believe that if Executions are to be made they should be done in Public in order to highlight the horror of them and to prevent such a serious punishment from being hidden, in order to give the impression that it is somehow humane or that a government which carries out such acts is not carrying out a justifiable but never the less terrible act. We also believe that the criminal has the right to give last words to a wide audience out of courtesy and respect for life over anything else. We therefore wouldn't support this bill.

MessageMr Speaker,

Execution is only for those with treasonous crimes under their belt, their deaths should not be public spectacles, it is enough to know they are dead.

MessageMr Speaker,

Although the party is also opposed to the death penalty, we will have to agree with the LAF in that it is best if our citizens know the horror of executions, instead of trying to hide it.
