Voting deadline: December 4234

Description[?]:

Simonetta Terragni, LP:

"Hon. Collegues,
After long debate, we constated the fact that there two "parties" in this debate: the one which believe that a more classic and historic model would be better to host the Istalian Parliament, the second party indeed, prefer something of hypermodern.
However, it seems that most part of the parties agreed on this proposal: https://www.aoc.gov/sites/default/files/styles/artwork-node/public/images/buildings/6506924573_b4e1f7fd8d_o.jpg?itok=PAhT-M0n and the Government are providing the necessery funds for its construction (250 million LIS), so, I invite the Parliament to finalize this resolution. The Istalian Parliament will have a seat whorty of our Great Nation.

Thank you"

"The second proposal is near my companies HQ! I did see it many times from the tower. It is a very beautiful building; I'd choose it. I did also see AI's proposal and the first. I have to see #3, too, as it looks very nice. But currently I would go with the second proposal."

"also LP support the second proposal of this debate. We think that it will perfectly express the solidity of our Republic and its institutions. I think that 250 million of LIS will be enough to cover the construction. We invite the next government to create a bill to allocate funds (OOC: maybe internal ministry) to built the second project. LP will support the bill."

Message"We ask LP where they believe they will get all of this additional money from for vanity projects? They're proposing to spend hundreds of millions on a new legislature building as well as hosting the world cup. It all seems a bit extravagant."

"Mrs Bashara,
it is possible to know why you are so obsessed by the costs and the expensses? We are Istalia! We can also made debts for trillion of LIS and we will continue to grow and to produce. We are a superpower! And, about the FIFA Cup and the Parliament: the FIFA Cup expensses will return thanks to the visitors and the turists and all the money which will produce the Cup.
For this building indeed, 250 million are an ammount that the state can perfectly afford!"

(OOC: look at the japan! It is the nation with the highest debt of the world but it is productive and still rich!)

Message"SI is 'obsessed' by the costs and expenses because we care about how taxpayers' money is spent. We want it to be spent carefully and responsibly. Vanity projects such as these should be scrutinised and parties in support of them should not be so scepticial about scrutiny."

"What you call vanity projects are actually symbols that will represent our country. Having an imponent Palace of Parliament will definitely increase the world's opinion. Even just proving that we are able to build something of this size is a good reason. Laws and bills are not the only way to show our dominance to other countries."

This building will bring great prestige and in fact I would like that this future building will be not simply the "palace of Parliament", but a "Palace of the Republic"! A place to make meet the representatives of the country as well as where glorify our great nation and great democracy! A landmark which will show the centrality of the Parliament and of the Democratic process for Istalia!"

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining.
