Message | Service to the nation instills good values and helps maintain national discipline. Besides, they can be a civilian civil servant if they so choose, so conscientous objectors are not forced into fighting. As for the nuclear weapons, we are vulnerable without them. We should have a few so we can strike back with them if someone uses them against us first. What is to stop someone with nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons from destroying us if we are afraid to hit them back? |

Message | You know, only one country used nuclear weapons in the past century. And that was twice in one year. Since then, no country has used these weapons in a war. These facts negate the "we must be able to strike back" arguement. |
Date | 04:20:45, February 18, 2006 CET | From | LiberalDemocraticFreedomTaxAndSpendParty | To | Debating the Comprehensive Defence Act of 2186 |
Message | That is a silly argument, what happens in the future it is not dependent on past actions taken by countries. Besides if, nuclear weapons had been used at some point after that almost certainly the world would have ended. |

Message | I do not believe I will be supporting article one. |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
