Details
Submitted by[?]: Federal Heritage Party of Hutori
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4235
Description[?]:
This proposal seeks to restore the Order of the Golden Lions so that we may honor those who have served the Republic with distinction. Article 1) An individual may be nominated to the Order of the Golden Lions by any one in the senate or by a sitting President. Article 2) An individual may not nominate themselves to the order. Article 3) A nomination may occur during a person's lifetime or posthumously. Article 4) The nomination must be confirmed by the Senate with a majority vote. Article 5) Membership of the Order of the Golden Lions is not hereditary. OOC: This is similar to the Presidential Medal of Freedom/Honor in the US or the Order of Canada. And before anyone says we're not the US or Canada this is something that is uniquely Hutorian. |

Message | OOC: building on that it's best to look at this like being a member of the Order of Canada. I'll offer a firm debate point after the election. |

Message | OOC:The thing is that there is a difference between a title of nobility and a title of honor. The Canada Order or the US Medal of Freedom/Honor are more titles of honor because the people who receive them are not consider ''noble''. In overall, my party would support the idea of that bill but I think the first article should be remove because it does not really represent what this bill is about. |

Message | OOC: Really your splitting hairs over the definition of honor? Isn't to be noble the same as to be honorable? They're not even conferred differing rights it's just a mark of distinction. |

Message | OOC: We don't have a title of honor system here in PT, so its best equalivent is this. The most that happens is that you get Ser added to the beginning of your name, literally nothing else in terms of powers or rights, its simply a way of honoring those who have served Hutori is whatever capacity they did. It was one of the reason it has such wide spread support from both Monarchists and literally every Republican Party when it was originally created and this were HARDCORE Republicans lol |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols. |
