Message | The NPGL, Believes strongly that Rent must be regulated in order to prevent abuse from landlords and to protect residents from exploitation. The idea that landlords, who commonly own multiple residential blocks being allowed to set rent free from government intervention, allows landlords to dictate prices and create essential monopolies, adjusting rent to suit their own needs and monopolising the housing market, but ultimately it also provides dangerous precedent when dealing with government regulation, and opens the door for further exploitation in other aspects of the housing market and beyond. Rent exploitation will continue to prevent youth and the lowest members of our working society from being able to benefit from a home of their own. The NPGL strongly implores the UDPR to reconsider the bill and urges other parties to strike this bill down. Before it has the chance to ruin thousands of lives. |

Message | On reconsideration we realize that this is not correct to change at this stage. We will follow the example set by our colleagues in NPGL. We apologize for this bill and realise that this is wrong and this one time will back down. Party Representative, Marta Zima |
