Bill: Nuclear Disarmament Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: New Theta

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2187

Description[?]:

We must...

Change Government policies to bring about the elimination of nuclear weapons as a major contribution to global abolition.

Stimulate wide public debate on the need for alternatives both to the nuclear cycle and to military attempts to resolve conflict.

Empower people to engage actively in the political process and to work for a nuclear-free and peaceful future.

Co-operate with other groups in Dranland and internationally to ensure the development of greater mutual security.

"The heart of a nuclear explosion reaches a temperature of several million degrees centigrade. Over a wide area the resulting heat flash literally vaporises all human tissue. At Hiroshima, within a radius of half a mile, the only remains of most of the people caught in the open were their shadows burnt into stone." http://www.cnduk.org/pages/binfo/effects.html

Random fact: Players are expected to behave in a courteous, co-operative manner and make a reasonable effort to act with the consent of all players involved, even where the rules do not make consent strictly necessary. In particular, players have a responsibility to take reasonable care that other players are not misinformed either about the role-play or the Game Rules.

Random quote: "Capitalism and communism stand at opposite poles. Their essential difference is this: the communist, seeing the rich man and his fine home, says: 'No man should have so much.' The capitalist, seeing the same thing, says: 'All men should have as much.'" - Phelps Adams
