Message | Honourable Members of the Senate, The PPK thanks the Government for holding this debate and hopes that it will continue this level of activity in the future. When regarding the current electoral system, the PPK feels that the current system is relatively secure. We would be open to talks regarding seat changes providing that the number in the Senate does not decrease. When it comes to frequency we feel that four years in a sensible time frame for a government, providing it ample opportunity to bring through reform that it so wishes. We are curious about the UPD's phrasing as "the necessity of reforming the current Electoral system." Before we delve further into debate, I would request further clarification from the Prime Minister over why reform is required, and what reform the UPD would suggest. Mlle. Violaine Roux Deputy Leader of the PPK |

Message | Members of the Senate, The use of necessity was to determine whetther the country needed or not some electoral reforms which we may define by the following issues; 1. Number of seats of the senate 2.The length of the Legislative term 3. Appointment of Mayors throughout the nation 4.Nobility We simply would like to debate with the whole senate and also parties which currently have no seats in the senate to determine whether amendments should be made or not. Message | Honourable Members, We thank the Prime Minister for providing clarity. The Parti Pragmatique Kanjor's position is as follows: In regards to the number of seats, we feel that an increase to 400 would be acceptable to increase representation without slowing down the system. In regards to the legislative term we are satisfied with the four years. We are also satisfied with the current appointment of mayors by their citizens. Regarding nobility, we would see it legalised but not possible to grant any titles. Whilst people should have the choice of wearing these names should they so wish, the government should not continue to hand them out. I hope this has given the Senate ample information on our stance, and look forward to knowing the government's stance on these four matters in due course. Mlle. Violaine Roux Deputy Leader of the PPK |
