Bill: Endangered Species Protection Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Libertarian-Socialist Coalition

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2189

Description[?]:

Simply stated, there is no reason that a private citizen should ever own endangered or exotic animals. Who honestly would take a siberian tiger as a pet? Even with the restrictions on the ownership and trade of endangered animals, we cannot trust that the animals will fare better in private hands than in zoos or in the wild. Especially (but not exclusively) with exotic animals, the cold Jakanian climate cannot be especially well-suited to animals, and we cannot trust that private citizens will be able to adequately provide an optimal environment for these animals.

Let those who know how to help protect these endangered and exotic animals.
