Dolgavia (sometimes called Dolgaria or Dolgava) is loosely based around a German occupied Baltic, it's loosely based around Ober Ost (World War I) and the German dominated Batlic nobility. While Dorvik is loosely based around Prussia, Dolgavia is based on a further eastern vision such as Courland, the United Baltic Duchy and other similar ventures of German Empire-era ventures in Eastern Europe.

Traditionally the Hulstro-Dolgavians dominated the political, economic and cultural landscape of Dolgavian however since the dawn of the modern world the Dolgavian people have begun their resurgence and the Hulstro-Dolgavians have taken their role as the king makers in today's political and economic landscape. The impact that the former Hulstrian colonist have had on Dolgavia is incredibly apparent. The Hulstro-Dolgavian nobility dominates the economic and noble scene, with few Dolgavians claiming nobility status but the number rose over several centuries and the current Grand Duke is a member of the Dolgavian nobility.

Dolgavian proper (Latvian) is the official and primary language of Dolgavia, Hulstro-Dundorfian (German with Austrian influences) is also considered an official language and retains an import role in Dolgavian society. Most everyday things can be found in Dolgavian and Hulstro-Dundorfian, with certain areas such as Dosne seeing signs and the like written in Azkulian. A vast majority of Dolgavians are bi-lingual and speak both Dolgavian and Hulstro-Dundorfian.
