Message | No, marriage is perhaps an unfortunate term and maybe the phrase civil union is better, but we are talkiing about CIVIL here. I.e. the right of people to gain the relevent benefits from the state with regards to tax and inheritance etc, so allowing them to live in a relationship with whomsoever they want. Whether that marriage is valid in the eyes of God is a matter for religion not the state. The state has an obligation to ensure that everyone regardless of their sexuality is treated equally, regardless of what religion may say on the issue as church and state are seperate. |

Message | Oh and TCP just because you don't like homosexuals is not a reason to prevent them from engaging in a loving relationship IN THEIR OWN TIME AND BEHIND CLOSED DOORS ETC. They are free to do as they please |

Message | This is clearly absurd and I see it as no coincidence that this bill has come about soon after the formation of our party. It is clear that you feel threatened by our presence and simply don't like us. I have no problems with you personally disliking our party but don't take your childish grudge out on the good homosexual citizens of our nation. With regards to this bill, there is absolutely no reason why gays shouldn't be allowed to marry. As citizens of this nation they should have the same rights as others to be with whoever they wish and to confirm that bond. You have even said yourself that there is no reason for you proposing this other than your prejudice. I suppose next you'll be shipping all our nations gays off to ghettos. |
