Message | Yes, The PLBS understands. However, a deposit of money will be needed in the first 5-10 years to set up and expand the student finance scheme to all students. Thus why the minster of finance and the LC must comment on the policy before the ministry of education and the PLBS will commit to the policy. We agree ideologically, however the economic consquences need to be explored before we make a decision. Thanks Minister of Education Maria Sharkey |

Message | A year of study per student will cost the Exchequer around 9000 ALD. With a higher education student population of around 7 million, the Chancellor will have to find around 63,000,000,000 each year. Let's say that around 2 million people won't participate in the Program. Then that will cost the Exchequer around 45,000,000,000. With the surplus and some taxe on luxury we can afford this bill. But these are only assumptions. The Cabinet will consult before pronouncing itself. |
