Bill: Equal Representation Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Hosian Civic Union
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4250
Description[?]:
The issue of tied votes is actually not so potent as it may seem (OOC: Most real-life nations have a legislature that is even numbered and experience little problems). The likelihood of tied votes is very very small and if a tied vote occurs the bill fails and the status quo is kept. (OOC: In all my time here I have never seen a bill anywhere close to a tied vote). If parties think it really is a problem then we can always work out a protocol about it for example in a tied vote the President casts the deciding vote and all those parties that voted against the President abstain. We really do need to give all the states equal representation as we are a Union of 5 Federal States that are actually bound together relatively loosely. |
