Bill: Theta Income Tax Proposal 2188
Details
Submitted by[?]: New Theta
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2189
Description[?]:
The Theta ARC/KRC propose to adjust the government's income tax policy to better address the economic situation of the Republic of Dranland.
The current taxation scheme is inherently suppressive: As your wage rises the penalty percentage rises. It punishes those who bring in larger incomes, whilst rewarding those who are on a lower bracket.
We propose a one-size-fits-all tax that applies to everyone, no matter what wage. It is fair and equal. |

Total | 884,132,000,000 DRA |

From | New Theta | To | Debating the Theta Income Tax Proposal 2188 | Message | We can never bring about real, positive change in society if such outmoded concepts are allowed to persist. The forgotten lands of the old West are prime examples of an inherently unworkable and suppressive taxation system that punishes those who bring in a higher wage. Why must we let this continue? |

From | Panty Party Party | To | Debating the Theta Income Tax Proposal 2188 | Message | Why should we further the distance by which the classes exist next to each other? We need to create equality for all. Not push people away from one another. |

From | Bloc Socialiste | To | Debating the Theta Income Tax Proposal 2188 | Message | This is the epitomy of inequality. Those with more have the moral obligation to provide for those who have less. It is only ethical to put people on the same level economically so they are not hindered spiritually or physically by a lack of means or a glut of it. |

From | New Theta | To | Debating the Theta Income Tax Proposal 2188 | Message | A moral obligation? As judged by whom? We must encourage production and the rewards of increased production, and not penalise it through harsher tax percentages. To do so would be a condonement of INEQUALITY. Why should those with more be FORCED to provide for those who have less? We believe in charity and exchange but not overt suppression and slavery. |

From | New Theta | To | Debating the Theta Income Tax Proposal 2188 | Message | The way that all tax brackets work would mean that a person who makes 1DRA more, could be faced with a far heavier tax burden than someone who makes only 1DRA less. For many people, it is in their interest to not produce simply to stay within a tax bracket that "suits" them. For those that strive to make larger incomes, there really is no encouragement, for as soon as they accomplish such a comfortable earning, they will suffer for it by being penalised with a harsher tax code.
We strongly believe in working for the greater good. But when you force people to work for the greater good, that becomes something entirely different, a slavery of sorts if you will. Raise the ethics, the standards and the ability of each individual and we will have a society that is truly free, and one that will help itself on its own accord, and not through force. |

From | Panty Party Party | To | Debating the Theta Income Tax Proposal 2188 | Message | I have to agree, if this passes I think there should be a hearing for those who support such illegal matters. With it being illegal, those for the bill should be made to pay consequences. We have ministers for a reason, as the finance minister is a part of this party, we would like to make it public that a debate over what should be cut/lowered in taxes should be dealt with in the bill being debated at : Bill: Clarification Over Taxes.
Please all make your way over there so that we can talk this over and eventually reach a consensus. |
