Bill: Responsible Recycling Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Maroon Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2061

Description[?]:

The government should cease to fund recycling plants, which can actually hurt the environment, since more resources can be used recycling hard-to-recycle materials than simply throwing them away and making new ones.

We propose instead that people be charged for the amount of trash that they dispose of using public facilities. That way, we will know exactly when resources are better spent recycling and better spent reproducing, because the people will do what is cheaper (i.e. costs fewer resources) to save money.
