Details

Submitted by[?]: Partito Radicale

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4246

Description[?]:

"It is a travesty that millions of Istalian Liras are transferred from hard-working taxpayers to failing businesses and industries to save the faces of wealthy, hopeless managers and CEOs every year. The people have had enough of state subsidies for fat cats so lets pull the plug! Pay teachers and nurses fairly and cut energy bills instead!"

MessageEvaristo De Berardinis, i Verdi! Financial Affairs Spokesman:

''Fat Cat Failures'' is an incorrect name for those who try to keep up their business. These people mostly have been through a lot and are fighting untill their last breath to maintain their business. Portraying them as '''Fat Cats'' is disgusting. Sure, there are probably some rotten apples in the box, but summarize all these people as ''hopeless managers'' is very, very deplorable. Question for the PR: What will they do when vital businesses fall down and the Istalian economy will suffer deeply(e.g. faillure of water filtering institutions or telephone networks)?

Message"We are surprised that a party branding itself as 'green' would speak in favour of the wealthy 1% over greater funding for public sector workers working in critical areas such as health and education.

To answer your question, Mr. De Berardinis, Essential services shouldn't falter because they are high in terms of supply and demand, so that doomsday scenario is unlikely to happen. Furthermore, while we assume the Greens support businesses and industries being owned and operated by the super-rich, PR supports a democratic economy which is owned and operated by democratic workers councils. In that sense, access to water and energy, for example, should be a human right and should be part of the commons."

We shouldn't help the poor in being poor, but help them in becoming richer.

The only thing I love more than a good old portion of capitalism, is a good old portion of capitalism provided by the left! Delicious!
