Bill: Police Armament Resolution

Details

Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2062

Description[?]:

While we do not want to arm our police force with lethal weapons, as it would cause not only a public outcry but pose a public threat, we acknowledge that it may be necessary to permit out police force to carry standard grade weapons.

They may only keep these weapons in their patrol cars at most, unless there is a crime situation that warrants ths use of force other than our mandated non-lethal force.

These standard firearms may not be used during crowd control. During crowd control, the police may only use conventional tear gas and rubber bullets.

At no time may an officer pull out a standard firearm unless he or she believes that they are faced with a legitment threat involving lethal weapons.

All police offcers will be required by the state to have received licensing and training in the use of standard firearms if they are to use them on duty.

MessageAnything to make it a bloody dictatorship? Well...TS. We are a moderate centrist party and we are NOT supporting anything extreme (well, exception given to the extreme left). But, military grade?? That's way too dangerous! Especially in the presence of unarmed citizens!

MessageI dont think that police should carry any lethal weapons under any circumstances, but as these restrictions curtail the use of lethal weapons that is going to be allowed as soon as the other bill passes (which it is going to), i will support it.
