Message | Introducing a system of progressive taxation. This proposal generates more income whilst taking the burden of taxation away from the least well off Luthori's |

Message | I'm sorry but we just can't accept 60% taxation, which means we will have to vote against your budget as well. 30% is already too high. |

Message | The 60% will only apply on income over 10,000 - ie a majority of someones income will be taxed at lower rates. |

Message | It's still daylight robbery. People on higher incomes are already paying their fair share for public services that they don't use (ie the rich send their kids to independent schools and have private medical insurance but still pay toward the public services) so we can't justify increasing their tax burden out of all proportion. We firmly believe in a fair, balanced income tax system (ie a flat rate) combined with indirect taxation (here you can quite fairly tax the super-rich by taxing lifestyle choices that are bad for the environment, such as air travel, second cars, second homes, speeding, lotteries, etc). |

Message | I don't have a problem with a progressive income tax, but this is a little extreme. |

Message | How can you shear the sheep next time when you take their skin this time? We need to leave just enough to provide an incentive for people to become wealthy and help us fund the government's budget. |

Message | Nice analogy. I thought you were an Aussie, not a New Zealander? |

Message | Well, there is a sheep station larger than Ireland in the NT, and a weapons testing range in SA that is larger than England. I don't know what the second fact has to to with this bill, but the first is just a statement that we Aussies know just as much about sheep as the kiwis, we just don't have intimate relations with ours. ; p |
