MessageOOC: Yet again another foreign invader comes here and five minutes later then think they know Davostag. This bill is utter bulls**t! You can take this bill and shove it up your ugly rear end. You know nothing of Davostag. You understand nothing of Davostag. Respect the culture and history of Davostag or leave me the hell alone...

MessageActually I have a full issues with this Bill.

I was under the impression and IDR is more then free to correct me, but properly speaking it's Davostani as the mother tongue and they are based loosely off of central Asian mountains peoples like Mongolians merged with Luthori settlers who are the Davostagians.

I have no idea where you got Italian from...

MessageI'd also increase the number of Luthori/Hutorians there are. Hutori has been Macon's dominant nation for close to 5 centuries now, and perhaps add Telamonese (Swedish)

Message(OOC: This probably needs to be revised further. Davostan has centuries of history being ruled as a quirky and add Satanic dictatorship. That cannot and should not be erased. The Christian percentages seem incredibly high to me given that context. Similarly the purported ethnic groups seem a bit jumbled up to me. I know that the ethnic spread of countries in Particracy doesn't have much geographic sense (which is how you get Koreans and Scandinavians next to each other... say with Dranland and Kazulia) but where did Jelbecs come from? They originate two continents and an ocean away and yet are supposed to constitute nearly 25 million people? Unless there is previous RP regarding this, it does not make much logical sense.

I would propose envisioning Davostani people as a fusion of Mongolian, Tungusic, and Turkic cultures as in modern Russian Siberia, as these seems the most logical geographical and cultural analogue to RL. Originally tribes and dissipated groups that raided each other and the nearby continent, they would have consolidated into a state as Luthori's colonial influence increased pressure. Not realizing ya'll were discussing this, I went ahead and simply named my own party in Kazakh using a modified script that I created from other Cyrillic alphabets. Unfortunately we cannot use the traditional Mongolian script because the site cannot properly display it.)

Message(OOC: I would simply encourage our pro-Hosian parties here to acknowledge the history of Davostan so that we could perhaps compromise and move forward in an interesting roleplay of attempting to build the church in a modern society that has been so far removed and even the opposite of it.

Just for fun, I'm also going to construct a bit of a changed language based on Kazakh, which we can either choose to reject or accept. Naturally it would make sense if there was a divide between the use of Latin and Cyrillic alphabets among the population, based on their religious affiliation.)

Messagetbh I'm also new to this, so I appreciate my observations/input on this carries less weight. But looking at the World Map and our location and our neighbours it seems to me that the cultural/ethnic mix is out of whack with the neighbourhood we live in. I only say this in terms of the Cultural Index provided that shows most of our neighbours are not Asiatic in characteristics. Hutori (American/Canadian), Endralon (Hungarian), Kundrati (Basque) etc. It seems odd that slap bang in the middle of that sort of mix you'd have a Mongol based ethnic society.

But hey, I'm new here and quite honestly will go with the flow!

Message(OOC: Yes, this in general tends to happen in Particracy because people chose the cultures of their nations randomly, ignoring the fact that it would be impossible for an Indo-European and Asiatic culture to simultaneously and independently develop right next to each other with essentially no influence and contact until they were fully mature in their modern, Earthly equivalents.

Since Davostan does not officially have cultural protocols, or even a guide to the general cultural trends, most of this is up for grabs. I do however want to respect the centuries long IG traditions of the Unholy Empire and ensure that this history is not erased.

The best way to overcome the point you mention is simply by making the case for Davostani peoples being in bulk indigenous peoples of the continent. The IG history of Hutori is that it was colonized by Luthori (hence the similarity in name) and later gained independence (hence its basis as an American/Canadian analogue). Endralon and Kundarati are on a different continent that is essentially the European analogue, so it isn't too unlikely that they would have their own thing going on. Logically, it makes sense to have the Davostani be an indigenous nomads (much like the Inuits spread across Russia, Canada, and Greenland), but with a Finno-Uralic/Turkic language with adopted aspects from "western" countries.)

Random fact: Real-life organisations should not be referenced in Particracy, unless they are simple and generic (eg. "National Organisation for Women" is allowed).
