For forty-three years Jakania has been not a sovereign and independent nation but a simple member state of a Pan-Majatran federation. During this time our culture, our symbols, our rights and freedoms have been under attack at every opportunity. For four decades we have seen unrest and violence; brother fighting brother in the street for the sake of foreign powers. Jakania has known subjugation before in our long past. To Augustus, to the Caliph, to Luthori, to Deltaria and to Cobura. But each time our people have stayed strong and reclaimed their right to sovereign, independent nation! Four years ago and now this May the Jakanian people have spoken and spoken clearly, "No More!" At the passing of this bill we will obey the will of the Jakanian people and formally secede from the Majatran Revolutionary Socialist Federation. Nothing will stop this work, nothing will hinder this work for it is what we all truly desire.
