Bill: Education agenda
Details
Submitted by[?]: Likaton Fascist Front
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2190
Description[?]:
The PSS feels that compulsory schooling although noble in intention is not a practical solutution. Rather than waste resources on truant officers and obliging parents to do home schooling, the PSS proposes that only students who want to learn are the ones that our schooling systems should support. This will also remove children who have become unruly and distracting from our classrooms and allow the more 'regularly attending' children to be educated in an environment more conducive to learning. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Education for children under adult age.
Old value:: Education is compulsory, but home schooling is permitted.
Current: Education is compulsory, but home schooling is permitted.
Proposed: Education is entirely voluntary.

Message | I'm not sure the AM AAP can support an idea of 'voluntary' education. There are too many factors conflicting, and too much that rides on the necessity for education, to opt for a voluntary system. Home schooling gives the parent an 'out' from the regular system... but it sounds like folly to try to avoid schooling, entirely. |

Message | As long as the home schooling option is included, AM RLP feels that the current law does not warrant changing. |
