Message | We aren't taxing hardly anyone by the way, zero percent corporate tax and luxury tax and an income tax cut coming up, and why should we tax religion? What did they do to deserve taxing? It's not like they're a corporation, driven by profit or anything. |

Message | Yes, because if the Fascists or Communists get their way, then it will be revelant. But my point lies with the Conservative Party. They aren't a company, they aren't part of the government, so why should they be taxed? So long as it's not some cult a real charismatic and popular guy made up for a pyramid scheme, then what right does the government have? |
Date | 22:36:20, February 23, 2006 CET | From | Liberal Party | To | Debating the Keep the government out of religion! |
Message | A religous organization collects donations through congregations at places of worship or through standard donations. All of these donations and collections are classified as charitable donations. Present law states that charitable donations aren't taxed, but all donations and collections made to the church are charitable donations, as churches are charities, albeit faith based ones, unto themselves. Therefore, I see no reason to change current law. Religions don't make profit, and if they do, they aren't religions, they're businesses. |
