Bill: P.d.I. 04/4269 Non-Discrimination in the Public Sector Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hizb Altahaluf/Partito dell'Alleanza

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 4270

Description[?]:

The current blanket ban on public sector workers displaying religious symbols is grossly discriminatory towards and offensive to the many, many Ahmadi women who wear the hijab as part of being true to their faith. It is also unfair to others, such as Hosians who are forbidden to wear crucifix symbols.

The public sector should treat all citizens fairly and without discrimination. This law must go.

"All the people but not if they are public officials and are exercising their duties. The State have to show itself neutral before every citizens. From the judge during a legal proceedings until the employees into the civil registry office have, when exerciting their duties, are representing the State! The State that cannot risk to be accused to be biased! We are sure this decision will generate several complaints about the exercising of public services."
