Bill: Organ Donation Consent Act 4275

Details

Submitted by[?]: Baltusian International Democratic Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4276

Description[?]:

Members of Congress,

Unfortunately, the current law is to assume ones wishes with regards to a pretty fundamental decision. We propose that for an organ donation to go ahead, it should only be if the donor wants it.

The notion that the state should ever *assume* consent is something that I, and many people take issue with.

We propose that, alongside article 1, after every citizen of Baltusia turns 18, they are sent out a form by the state requesting if they consent to organ donation. If they choose to not consent, they send the form back and after death their organs are not donated. If they do choose to consent, they can select the organs they wish to open to donation and then after death their organs can be donated.

Organ donation should be a choice and people that aren't aware that they explicitly have to state they don't consent to organ donation are not getting a fair deal out of this.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically
