Bill: Income tax proposal of February 2190

Details

Submitted by[?]: Telamon Social Democratic Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2190

Description[?]:

The Telamon Social Democratic Party propose to adjust the government's income tax policy to better address the economic situation of the Telamon Commonwealth.

Our Budget shows a significant surplus and even more so if our Budget will be passed. To share that money to our citizens we propose lowering the level of income tax.

The tax cut is directed to the citizens whose earnings are below the national average to increase consumer demand and remove obstacles to employment.

As our nation gets wealthier and wages increase we will have to introduce new tax brackets and therefore we have taken a preparative step in that direction. The new tax bracket only targets the telamonians with the highest incomes.

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost.

Random quote: "'The illusion of Pontesi nationhood'. The Serpent speaks. How can they say these things? How can they call our country an illusion? You can see it clear as day, these people won’t stop until they’ve destroyed us all." - Morgan Einar, former Pontesian general
