We see no need to take authority away from local governments in this area, but if the Nationalists think this is important, we will not oppose the bill. However, we do ask that language be added to the bill's description stipulating that the new federal agency work THROUGH the local agencies which exist today rather than attempting to supplant them, which would be a waste of talent and resources. Thank you Mr. President. I yield. |
