The lyrics are provided below...

Likatonia our nation,
Our mountains, seas and sands,
Our honour and our values,
Our hopes and hearts and hands.

Likatonia our guardian,
Our parent and our guide,
Our refuge when in times of need,
Which shelters us with pride.

Likatonia our people,
Courageous, strong and just,
Likatonia our freedom,
In whose laws we trust.

Likatonia our history,
Tradition handed on,
Our culture and our forbears’
Since memory began.

Likatonia our future,
Our children’s and our own,
Long may it continue,
Our nation and our home.

MessageI think we are going to find it quite hard to agree on lyrics - maybe we should stick to tune only? If you could find out the name of that piece of music...

MessageWe'll need lyrics. There must be some way to make non-partisan lyrics that don't sound mocking.

I have members of my party working on crafting an all-purpose, inspiring, nationalistic song that doesn't show favor to an ideology. So far there's been little progress, but it's a worthwhile endeavor.

OOC: I actually am working on that. I've written songs in the past, so this is an interesting exercise. And I temporarily have a lot of free time, too, so there's no reason not to.

MessageRide of Valkyries is pretty good. It's powerful and not mocking. It does get your attention though.

MessageOOC: I give up on the songwriting project. Five drafts later - and they all sound like comedies. I'm only good at amusing lyrics and tragic ones.

Messagewell, I thought i would have a go too. I see what you mean, it is really hard to stop it sounding like a parody of itself, there are so many cliches. in the end i decided just to use that to my advantage, and go with it, so the result is more or less just one huge cliche - but i am going to post it to motivate you all to come up with something better.

Likatonia our nation,
Our mountains, seas and sands,
Our honour and our values,
Our hopes and hearts and hands.

Likatonia our guardian,
Our parent and our guide,
Our refuge when in times of need,
Which shelters us with pride.

Likatonia our people,
Courageous, strong and just,
Likatonia our freedom,
In whose laws we trust.

Likatonia our history,
Tradition handed on,
Our culture and our forbears’
Since memory began.

Likatonia our future,
Our children’s and our own,
Long may it continue,
Our nation and our home.

Your turn!

Messageok, ok, i take it back. I just get images of all the strange, axe wielding, incestuous, tolkienesque vikings that the whole ring cycle brings to mind... I didnt think it was that great a national image. But i have a friend who is a huge fan of the music, so there must be something good in it. I must just learn to dissociate.

Random fact: When your party holds the foreign affairs department, you can create new treaties. However, before writing anything new, it is a good idea to search for existing treaties which already accomplish what you desire.
