Bill: Arranged Marriage Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4287

Description[?]:

I disagree with the current legislature on that arranged marriages should be illegal. I will give some pros of why arranged marriages should be legalized.

Firstly, an arranged marriage ensures a future with someone, reducing the pressure and stress of finding the one before you reach a certain age

Secondly, since the families of the spouses are deeply involved in the entire process, this means that the two families already get along, relieving the anxiety that your parents may not like your partner.

Thirdly, It should also be noted that many arranged marriages do involve real love. The love might not be present during the wedding ceremony, but it often does grow over time. There has been research done on arranged marriages and studies show that people in arranged marriages love each other more as time passes. This means that the love will actually grow with time.

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections.
