MessageOOC: The region names are the original region new of Trigunia, which it has had since it's creation. I'd be open to them being russified in some way, make them for with the nation's language. But I'd prefer them to stay similar to what they currently are.

Rodshyadam is the name of the country's capital is all over the wiki pages which have been contributed to by many players for the past ten years. See this page and other linked pages http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Rodshyadam

I do 't care about any other of the city names tbh. They are we creations and I'm fine with them being changed.

MessageFor a long time, Rodshyadam was called Aleksandrovsk (I renamed it). I understand your concerns, but Rodshyadam does not immediately stick the idea of a Russian and therefore Trigunian city in my head, it sounds... foreign. The foreign names are on the isle of Tirgith, where the Hulstrians live (Kaiserburg, Kronkirchen, Buchtstadt and Hochsdorf). Aleksandrovsk on the other hand, is a very Russian name. It was a name to many different cities and towns in the Russian Empire. I mean I can change it if you really want it, but I prefer this.

MessageYou're right that it doesn't sound Russian, but it was called that by non-Russian speaking original inhabitants of the area. As the person who changed Trigunia into a Russian speaking state (with help from Russian speaking friends) I'll explain the background of it.

The story of Rodshyadam (which I probably should have taken the trouble to write on Wikipedia as well) is that it was a Colony of the Deltarian Empire founded in the 1700s. Despite their small numbers they quickly established themselves as the dominant force of Great Chadonia, the larger of the three islands that make up Trigunia. This was thanks to their superior technology and canny use of realpolitik to disrupt the local Trigunian tribes. Over the next few hundred years of isolation (after the collapse of the empire) their delic language evolved into the modern form, a significant deviation from the original mother tongue of the colonists.

But Rodshyadam wasn\'t a new foundation, it was founded on an existing city called Rosterdam (the name of the city when I started playing particracy in 2006) The idea behind the odd name was that the natives referred to the city as Rodshyadam as a pejorative, because they despised the Rodshya minority and feared their foreign ways. Like many pejorative forms the inhabitants of the city took the name as a badge of honour and started calling the city Rodshyadam as well.

Despite years of changes and the amalgamation of the population into one Rodshya speaking whole the Germanic sounding name Rodshyadam stuck, because of its historical importance.Though I could accept the name being changed I'd prefer this history to be acknowledged in some way, I know we both have some differences in our histories of Trigunia so perhaps we could come to some sort of compromise?

MessageRodshyadam could be the central city district of Aleksandrovsk, where all the governmental buildings are located.
