| The AM PSS asks the convocation to consider the following. Even though contraceptives are currently subsidised by the state, we feel that they should be made available for free. Parents that use this method for long term family planning still have to have their hand in their pockets all the time. Contraceptives freely distributed will also reduce the number of unwanted teen pregnancies (consequently reducing the abortion rate) and also serve to reduce the instances of sexually transmitted diseases, with a consequent easing of pressure on our national health services. |
