Bill: Parliamentary Register of Cult Members

Details

Submitted by[?]: Dorvische Kommunistische Partei

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 4290

Description[?]:

Comrades,

We propose the establishment of an official Register of Cult Members, overseen by an all-party parliamentary committee. Under the terms of this legislation, all parliamentarians who belong to groups designated as cults (including the "Children of the Spirit") will be obliged to list their membership of the cult in this Register, which shall be publicly available.

It is not our intention to ban cult members from sitting in the Staatsrat. However, we are arguing that if parliamentarians do belong to cults, then it is in the public interest than the public should know about this.

We all know the influence cults can exert on their members. They can be dangerous and sinister.

I am not seeking to denigrate cult members or to unfairly discriminate against them, only to insist they should not conceal their cult membership from the public.

Parliamentarians who do not comply with the requirements of this legislation will be subject to sanction, at the discretion of the all-party committee. These sanctions may include deductions from the parliamentary salary, removal of various parliamentary privileges and suspension from the Staatsrat.

MessageMr Pfieffer,

This registry is a clear next step in the Haldorian program to weaken the South. First, they ban us from organizing religiously. Second, they make us sign our names to a register. Thirdly, what? Do they put us in camps? Do they kill us? The RP and DKP are walking a fascist tightrope.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.

Random quote: "You will win, but you will not convince. You will win, because you possess more than enough brute force, but you will not convince, because to convince means to persuade. And in order to persuade you would need what you lack, reason and right in the struggle." - Miguel de Unamuno
