We want to point out that this bill is purely to honour our coalition agreement in which our party agreed to strengthen the unions to the AP.

We are honouring this agreement and will hereby present to the Rat the second joint coalition bill of the cabinet!

MessageWe commend the DRF for Article 1, which is absolutely right and democratic.

However, we have concerns about Article 2. Much would depend on the government in power at any one time. It might be a progressive government which takes the interests of the workers to heart...but it might also be a right-wing government that is happy to allow strikers to be sacked for any reason at all.

For this reason, although we appreciate the spirit behind this bill, on balance we must vote against it.
