Bill: P.d.l 01/4295 Sales Tax reduction

Details

Submitted by[?]: Partito Nazionale Democratico

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 4295

Description[?]:

Demetrio Votta, PNP Speaker for Finance,

After a successful income tax reduction, we propose a seemingly symbolic yet significant sales tax reduction. Taking into account our surplus, it is logical to give Istalian consumers a reduction of prices they deserve, the natural market way.

Thank you.

MessageStefano Romulani, Whip of LP:

"did you say 'istalian consumers'? Maybe it would be better say 'istalian richest consumers'! Our budget is still in deficit now after the recent reform of the Government and now is coming another gift for few fortunate which will increase even more our national deficit!
This nation is going to do debts to support even more the most fortunate! This is the real theft, the poorest which have to support the gift of this Government to the richest!
And very compliment for the timing: a "good" tax reduction before the elections! What shame this Government!"

MessageFelippe di Vittorio, PNP Speaker for Finance,

Honourable Mr. Romulani,

I believe you need good glasses if you cannot see how this will benefit not only the richest, but mainly the lower classes. Tell me, who produces the “luxury” goods? The proletariat. What happens when you lower taxes? Demand for the goods in question increases. The rest of this simple economic explanation you probably know. As demand for the goods increases so does the demand for labour. With that, people get employed and employers compete for labor, increasing wages to outrun their competitors. Simple and effective and all benefit, the rich whi can buy their golden watches and what not, and the lower classes who will be able to rise in the social hierarchy rapidly. This is what we all want.

Thank you

Clearly the free market is backed strongly by this parliament as all parties but the LP vote in favor. You simply cannot argue with the numbers.

We thank all for putting faith in this bill.
