Submitted by[?]: Liberty Dawn
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 4296
Description[?]:
"Mr. Speaker, Higher education can often be wasteful when it does not produce jobs but rather radical left-wing ideologues. There is no reason to give higher education a carte blanche like we do. We'd be better of having one Solentian moving out to the country growing carrots than having ten of them moving into the cities to study 'gender studies'. Let's replace our system with one of means-tested loans which students eventually have to repay, ensuring there's an incentive to not take part in wasteful education programmes that don't produce any new jobs." Electa Anderson LD Education & Culture Spokesperson |

Message | "Mr. Speaker, Fully subsidizing education for students is a poor choice that gives the government no guarantee of student success. By introducing means tested loans, our students will be incentivized to contribute to the economy. We support this bill and urge our colleagues to do the same."
